Lateral Tarsal Strip – A Method of Choice for Management in Variety of Lower Lid Malposition

Purpose: To determine the effectiveness of lateral tarsal strip procedure (LTS) in treating different types lid malposition. Study Design: Interventional case series. Place and Duration Study: Sindh Institute Ophthalmology visual sciences from January 2019 to December 2019. Method: There were 49 eyelids on which LTS was performed. A complete ophthalmic examination done patients assessed for horizontal laxity by pinch test. Patients with severe moderate medial canthal excluded. ectropion minimal included study where combined spindle. Results: Twenty three had involutional ectropion. Spindle performed addition 3 these 23 patients. Six entropion. One patient recurrent everting sutures them. Five facial palsy two them spindle procedure. traumatic avulsion tendon not repaired primarily. Two previous cantholysis. In one support prosthesis a previously eviscerated eye. All underwent variation length adjusted presumed post-operative position lower lids relation limbus angle. Conclusion: .Lateral is simple effective correction Key Words: Lateral strip, malposition, laxity.
